The FEI World Equestrian Games Comes to Tryon

One of the largest sporting events on the globe is coming to the Tryon International Equestrian Center!

With an expected draw of over 500,000 fans from over 70 countries, The FEI World Equestrian Games™, comes to Tryon Equestrian Center in Mill Spring from Sept.11-23, 2018.

Just a short 45 minute drive from Asheville, the Tryon International Equestrian Center is an international hub for many of the world’s top equestrian athletes.

The Games are held every four years, in the middle of the Olympic cycle, in many of the most impressive cities around the world.

Tryon joins this list of hosts including Stockholm, Sweden (1990), The Hague, Netherlands (1994), Rome, Italy (1998) and Normandy, France (2014).

Combining eight equestrian World Championship caliber events, the 13-day event will feature Jumping, Dressage and Para-Equestrian Dressage, Eventing, Driving, Endurance, Vaulting and Reining – as well as equestrian-focused demonstrations and exhibitions hosted throughout the duration of the event.

With the influx of over a half million guests to our area, we recommend booking accommodations and travel to and from the Games in advance. This not only gives you the opportunity to enjoy this amazing event without the hassle, it gives you top pick of our outstanding fleet – including the newest member of Asheville Premier Transportation – our 14 passenger Ford Transit.
